Omg this past weekend was an absolute dream come true! Colton thought of every detail and planned the entire weekend himself.
For those of you who do not know, Colton and I have been dating for the past 8 and a half years- we were just 16 years old when we first started dating! He was my first boyfriend ever and a matter of fact, my only boyfriend. We have grown from teenagers to adults, we held hands through many life events, and have been each other’s best friends since day one. We started dating March 17, 2011 and on that day my life was forever changed. As a young 16 year old, I had no idea that he would be the person I would spend the rest of my life with. However, after a few years of dating, I saw what an amazing person he was and never looked back. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, partner in crime, and soul mate.
So how did he ask me (the short version)….
A few months ago, Colton told me that his mom and dad won a trip to Fredericksburg but they couldn’t go due to different commitments. So they asked if Colton and I would like to use their reservation. If you know how much I love Frederskburg, it was a YESSSS. So we packed our bags Friday and headed towards the hill country. We spent the day together drinking wine, eating, and listening to music (it was honestly the best day ever). After our last stop of the day (Narrow Path tasting room), he asked if would like to walk across to the market square and walk around -not thinking anything of it, I said yeah sure (hah). As we began walking in the market square, I began to see rose petals and my heart started pumping out of my chest. I could not believe the moment I had literally been waiting for my whole life was about to happen. Before I knew it, the man of my dreams was down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was such a special moment that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We cried, cheered, and drank some champagne (which he had set up). It truly was a special moment. After that we had dinner a Cabernet Grill, website HERE. It was one of the best meals of our lives!!!! It was a wedge salad, chicken fried ribeye topped with cream gravy and chunks of lobster, brussel sprouts, cheese grits!!! If you’re in the Fredericksburg area and are wanting a nice meal- this place is the best. After dinner we went back to the cutest Airbnb Colton booked for us and relaxed. However, the next morning Colton had one more surprise for me.
