Happy Monday girlfriends!!! As I mentioned last week in my post, I would do a full review on my top 5 favorite brands, I know and love. I thought it would be fun to do a five-week series, expanding my knowledge on the brands and sharing with you why I love them. Let’s kick off the first week with nothing better than Louis Vuitton.
First things, first… a little back ground
Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854 in Paris, France by Louis Vuitton Malletier. Louis Vuitton is one of the world’s leading international fashion houses, selling a variety of products that woman and men carry all over the world. The brand was found when Louis began making trunks at the age of 16 and today, is still relevant in the fashion industry. What a legend!!
Nothing explains a Louis Vuitton handbag better than the word, timeless. As I said last week, the handbags and products are definitely an investment, don’t get me wrong, the prices are high. However, I feel confident telling you that these products and bags will last a lifetime and will never go out of style. You can dress them up or down and they can be carried for any occasion. Which makes them, in my opinion, a “smart investment”. If you can’t tell, I think in terms of money lol…. So if I can carry a bag for years; it’s a deal in my eyes.
How did I buy my first Designer handbag, Louis Vuitton handbag?
Being the “fashionista” I am, owning my own louis Vuitton bag was always a dream of mine. Year after year, I would ask my parents for Christmas or birthdays for a handbag but my mom always told me NO. She told me, “if I buy you an expensive handbag, how will you ever know how to work hard for something you want”? So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started saving for my dream bag. I told myself, that I wanted to purchase my first ever Louis Vuitton handbag as a 21stbirthday gift to myself.
So how did I do it??
- I got an empty wine bottle… a large Wood Bridge Chardonnay to be exact. Which was probably left over from a crazy wine night with my friends.
- Took a sharpie and wrote the current date and wrote a goal date; which I wanted to buy the handbag by.
- I took all the cash out of my wallet and stuck it in that wine bottle.
- I began sticking any cash that I got for birthday, holiday’s, babysitting or work in that wine bottle and watched it grow over time. What’s nice about a wine bottle, you can’t get the money out without breaking the whole bottle.
This method allowed me to save and purchase my very own Louis Vuitton bag at the age of 21. This bag will always be special to me and I will definitely be carrying it in the nursing home. Forever and always… (#teamextra)!!!!
